Two Americans and a US based Japanese scientists are announced as the Noble prize winners in the Chemistry for the research on a glowing jelly fish protein that revolutionized the ability to study disease and normal development in living organisms. The three persons are Japan's Osamu Shimomura and Americas Martin Chalfie and Roger Tsien. Researchers worldwide now use GFP (Green Fluorescent Protein) to track such processes as the development of brain cells, the growth of tumors and the spread of cancer cells.
