MRP??? What does that mean???
Each and every citizen of India knows very well that one should not sell any goods more than the maximum retail price. It is against the Indian law. But anyone who visits Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT) will get a doubt whether this law still exists in India. On one fine day I went to board a bus in CMBT. At that time I thought of buying a Milky bar chocolate. I went to the shop and asked, he told its cost is Rs.12. But the maximum retail rate printed on the cover of the Milky bar is Rs.10. When I enquired about this, he told in CMBT its Rs.12. When I told that one should not sell any Indian goods for any price greater than maximum retail price in India, he told in CMBT everything will be costing Rs.2 more than maximum retail price. Nobody in India dares to tell this as it is against our law. But in one of the Asia’s biggest bus stand, the shopkeepers are acting against law. I don’t know when the government will wake up. I hope they will wake up before it’s too late and take action.
