Team Anna vs. Indian Government

Anna Hazare is all set for his second fast unto death demonstration as part of his fight against corruption. Hazare was insisting the Government of India to pass a stronger Lokpal bill. This time Team Anna is saying that this fast demonstration will also be a huge success. But many feel that this fast will not be successful as the previous one as many members of team Anna were exposed by the government for their history of corruption. The worst affected in this was the former IAS officer Kiran Bedi and Arvind Kejriwal. Also not sure how far people will support his fast demonstration again and not sure how far government will bow for this pressure. Let’s wait and watch whats happening in this fast. Jaya sacks close aides

In a shocking move by Jayalalitha, she has suspended her close aide Sasikala and 11 others from the AIADMK party. The 11 others removed from the party are mostly her relatives. Sasikala is a close aide for Jayalalitha who used to be with her for most of her personal visits anywhere and they were considered as close friends. Not sure what went wrong between them which lead to the expulsion of her old friend. Sasikala is an accused with the Chief Minister Jayalalitha in the disproportionate assets case. Sasikala is also visiting the Bangalore special court to provide her statement. Also a photo was seized in Jaya’s house in which both were seem wearing gold ornaments from head to toe and posing for the photograph. Sasikala is the only person who knows almost all the secrets of Jayalalitha and I am not sure how far the decision is a wise one. Among the 11 others removed from the party includes her isolated son. Nobody is very sure about the reason for the internal rift in the AIADMK party, lets wait and see whether any news hits the headlines in the upcoming days.

Greg to demistify Sachin?

The most awaited Australia’s tour of India will be kicking off next week. Are Indian hospitals safe?

Indian governments, both central and state always have a bad habit of not acting before its too late, this time its government of West Bengal. The fire in AMRI hospital which killed nearly 90 people has woke up the government of West Bengal. Now West Bengal is running all the corners to check the safety norms in all the hospitals in Kolkata. The main reason for death in AMRI was using underground parking slot to store combustible items. Also the hospital did not have fire extinguishers which are in working condition and fire exists were not present in the building. Safety norms were not at all followed in the hospital. With this accident, all the hospitals are raised in the city to ensure that this accident is not repeated. Government of West Bengal also announced a compensation plan for those who died in the fire accident. What will money do? Can it bring the dead people back to life? Not only in West Bengal there are many hospitals in the country which are running without proper facility to tackle fire accidents. Atleast after this accident the government should wake up and ensure that no such accident is repeated again.

India sweeps series

With a win in the final ODI which was held at Chennai, India has swept the series against West Indies by 4-1. With the series already in hand, India played their final ODI in Chennai in which they defeated West Indies by 34 runs. India won the toss and decided to bat first. Though the top order of the Indian batting line up failed, Manoj Tiwary ensured that India goes for a decent score. He scored his debut century with the help of which India climbed to 264 runs. West Indies started their batting with a disastrous start. Their top order was completely shaken by the Indian seamers. West Indies was reeling with 50 runs in hand and lost 5 wickets. But Russel and Pollard rained many sixes and kept the match alive. Their hundred run partnership revived some hope for the Caribbean’s. But when Russel wicket was taken, Indian bowlers became confident and they bowled out the bottom order easily. Final wicket was of Pollard with a brilliant catch from Rahane. With that, India swept the series by 4-1. Manoj Tiwary was the man of the match. Hope India goes to Australia with the same form and confidence.

Fire accident at AMRI

Entire country was shocked after seeing the news channel on 9th December, 2011. Fire engulfed one of the famous hospitals in Kolkata and many patients died due to burn injuries and due to suffocation in smoke. AMRI hospital is available in the crowded and congested streets of Kolkata. By early morning at around 3AM fire broke out from the basement of the building. Since many patients were on deep sleep, many died without even knowing that fire has engulfed them. Source of the fire is still unknown, but by the evening of the same day, 90 bodies were recovered. None of the people in the hospital expected that such a horrible incident will occur that too in the midnight. It seems local people were not allowed to go in to rescue people else, the number of deaths would have reduced. Also some complains came from few set of people that fire fighters arrived the spot late and so fire went out of control. By Friday night, the fire was still burning in the hospital as lots of combustible materials were there. Also fire fighters are trying their level best to dose the fire before the fire reaches the oxygen cylinders in the hospital. If fire reaches the cylinders, a big accident will occur. Hope everything is dosed off before that.

West Indies blown off by Sehwag's tornado

With the help of heroics of Sehwag, India has sealed the series against West Indies by winning 3 matches out of 5 matches. India posted a huge target of 418 runs. In reply, West Indies managed to score just 265. Man of the match was obviously Sehwag who smashed a record score of 219. West Indies did play well as Ramdin scored 96, but that score was not enough in front of Sehwag’s Mount Everest score of 219. Finally India won the match by 153 runs. With the win in this match, India has sealed the series. Out of 4 matches which happened, India won 3 matches and for sure the trophy is for them. Last ODI match is going to happen in Chennai on Sunday. India is targeting to win the match and end the series on a high. Let’s wait and see whether the final day belongs to West Indies or India. Soon after the match ends, Indian team will fly to Australia to play ODI and Test series. Hope they maintain the same form in Australia to defeat them.

Sehwag in action

Once upon a time, hitting a century in cricket was very tough, but now a days hitting a double hundred in the ODI has become a fashion. Confused? Last year Sachin hit 200 runs and shook the entire world of cricket. This year its Sehwag, who smashed the record of Sachin within just an year. In the 4th ODI vs West Indies, Sehwag scored a whooping 219 in just 149 balls. Entire cricket playing nations were got surprised when Sehwag smashed the record of Sachin which everybody felt its not possible. Last year Sachin scored an unbeaten 200 against South Africa in which he broke the previous highest score of Saeed Anwar’s 196 in Chennai. As everybody say, records are meant to be broken. And even this record is broken now my Sehwag. But Sehwag too believes that even his record will be broken by someone very soon. West Indies back in action

India missed an excellent opportunity to close the ODI series against West Indies as the latter registered a win against the former in the third ODI.
