Indian railway network is one of the largest and complex networks in the world. Also since bus fare has been increased many times, many people prefer to travel in train due to which demand for trains increased a lot. Keeping this in mind, Indian railways is doing many innovative things to improve the service provided by them. One of the innovative ideas which Indian Railways is planning to bring up is Mobile Satellite Service (MSS). This service will help in passengers know when exactly the train will reach the destination station and also it will help them in identifying where exactly their train is now. Indian railways do have this facility now, but many times the details provided by the Indian railways website are erroneous. Also many times station masters used to provide wrong information to the passengers leading to chaos. Indian railway authority feels that introduction of MSS will bring a solution to all these problems. They also told that currently the service is in testing stage and it is working very effectively it seems. I hope this service will be extremely helpful for the millions Indian population travelling in train on a daily basis.
