Mayawati statues to be wrapped up

With critical elections coming up in Uttar Pradesh, the Election Commission of India gave a critical order in which it asked the UP government authorities to wrap up all statues of Mayawati and Dalit leaders which are available in various parks constructed in recent period of times. Last year under great criticism, Mayawati opened many parks which are especially for Dalit leaders in the state. Each park had many statues which portrayed many living and passed away Dalit leaders. Mayawati was very heavily criticized for spending crores of money in construction of these parks, but Mayawati did not care about them and successfully opened all parks in the mid of last year. Since UP face critical elections this year, the election commissioner asked all the statues of Mayawati and the Dalit leaders must be covered by a water proof covering. With only few days left for the deadline, officials are scrambling themselves to cover all the statues. There are around 500 statues in the state and all needs to be covered up by Wednesday. Earlier a similar incident happened when central election came up in which the election commission asked to wrap up all the posters of Vajpayee. Let’s wait and see whether officials manage to wrap all statues successfully.
