India and Italy face diplomatic tensions

A move by Indian government in killing of Kerala fishermen by Italy really surprised me. The government decided to file criminal cases against the Italian crew and they are planning to arrest the officials who shot at the fishermen. Few days back an Italian ship stuck the headlines in Indian newspaper for killing fishermen hailing from Kerala. It seems a cargo ship crew from Italy mistook Indian fishermen as pirates and shot them dead in the Indian Ocean. This problem escalated to the Indian government and it lead to a diplomatic problem between India and Italy. I was really surprised by the move made by Indian government as the same government never took any action against Sri Lankan navy who always abuse Indian fishermen fishing near kachatheevu. This is happening for many years in which many fishermen lost their lives. Many Indian governments changed but till now, no one could find a solution for this problem. But when a Kerala fisherman is dead, India is ready for a diplomatic fight against Italy. Is this only because the state government in Kerala is run by Congress? Being a fair government, India should also look into the problems faced by Tamil fishermen from the Sri Lankan navy. Hope my cry reaches the government for action.

Supreme court targets PMO

The Supreme Court of India has got hold of the Prime Minister Office for not advising the prime minister to pass sanctions against the former telecom minister A.Raja. With reference to the petition filed by Subramanya Swamy, Supreme Court of India blamed Prime Minister Office that they failed to do their duties. Swamy filed a PIL asking why no sanctions have passed from the prime minister for prosecution against the former telecom minister. Supreme Court has directed the Government of India that any corruption has to be given top priority and they must be completed within 3 months since the case initiated.
